Zoya Kumar was hired in May 2014 as the Executive Director of the Portland Community ToolBank. Ms. Kumar is an experienced executive bringing over 17 years of experience within operations, fundraising, marketing, and human resource management. Her background in relationship development and fiscal oversight ensures the ToolBank extends a trusted resource for the community, benefactors, and contributors, while providing the best customer service to the charitable organizations that borrow its tools. Ms. Kumar also ensures ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. She recommends timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals for sustaining the ToolBank resource.
Zoya’s free time includes climbing imaginary rugged, snow-topped mountains; traveling to tropical destinations; and creating meaningful art with previously chewed bubblegum. She’s passionate about her family and friends, world peace, walks along the beach, and pizza. Zoya still believes we can change the world with acts of kindness.

Samantha Jordan, President
Samantha is known as the go-to girl. A hands on creator, from initial concepts to final installation, she works to maintain high standards – to make sure all aspects of a project are addressed to meet the needs of the client. Whatever the project is, Samantha goes above and beyond its basic requirements. She has been working in the marketing and public relations field for over 20 years, and has participated in or headed up a broad range of projects. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design & Minor in Art History, Buffalo State College.
Matthew Scherer, Secretary
Matthew Scherer is an attorney and legal scholar. He is an associate at Buchanan Angeli Altschul & Sullivan LLP and also is a noted speaker and commentator on issues surrounding the intersection of law and artificial intelligence.
Between 1985 and April 2000 Steve worked for PPG, Grow Group and ICI Paints. He held a number of different positions that expanded his career from Finance, to Operations, into Marketing and Advertising, Export and Licensing, and Strategic Planning/Mergers and Acquistions. He managed business units in the U.K. and on the West Coast for both PPG and Grow Group, and in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) for Grow Group and ICI Paints.
Sarah is the Human Resources Manager at Stanley Infrastructure. Sarah has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho and a certificate from Portland State University. Sarah enjoys hiking, snow skiing, boating, reading, cooking and travel.

Jake is finishing his Bachelor of Arts in Community Development, with a focus on GIS, at Portland State University. He currently works as an Intramural and Special Event Student Coordinator at PSU’s Campus Rec. In the future, Jake plans to work with youth in low-income areas by providing them with after school sports and recreation programs. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, hiking, and road trips in his Jeep.
Greg Pauly is the Portland Oregon Construction Representative for Republic Services. Greg has a bachelor’s degree in City Planning from Eastern Oregon University. Greg enjoys hiking, reading, learning new things; volunteering and meeting new people.
Scott is the CEO of Schecter & Co. Schecter & Co. specializes in software engineering and creative design services for education, medical, nonprofit, and technology organizations. Scott graduated from Murray State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business in the area of Computer Information Systems. Scott’s hobbies include reading, listening to music, gardening, and general tom foolery.
