We love Portland Community ToolBank,
particularly because of our shared mission to transform our community by engaging volunteers and providing connections to meaningful ways to improve our surroundings. We are in an era of collaboration and shared resources; the ToolBank is the perfect model of innovative solutions to meet community needs.
ToolBank impact to our community
Hands On has a small tool supply for painting and landscaping projects in our basement, but it’s a hassle to get them out, and they are not in the best shape. For this project, we didn’t have nearly enough tools to accomplish everything, so the timing of the Portland Community ToolBank opening was just perfect. The ToolBank has significantly more tools, both quantity and selection, than we have. We would not have been able to do everything we wanted to do without the Portland Community ToolBank.

What we love about the ToolBank is that it puts high-quality tools into the hands of volunteers who have a passion to improve their communities. Miller Paint has a long history of community engagement, and the ToolBank allows us to support the one entity that serves all charitable organizations. Portland ToolBank empowers volunteer groups to perform larger, more ambitious, and more frequent service projects.

Zoya and Portland Community ToolBank, What can we say? Our Ramp Up/Spruce Up project for local veterans would not have happened without your generosity and help! You connected us to our local Home Depot which resulted in over 50 volunteers on site and a waiver of tool fees. Because of ToolBank’s national partnership with Home Depot, we saved $116.73 in tool lending fees over one week (waived) versus purchasing at $3,736.30. Thank you so much for being a huge part of our project and for being a wonderful resource for our community. It was such a pleasure partnering with you! We look forward to working with you again.

Thank you from Home Forward for supporting the KaBoom! playground build at Schiller Way today. We’ll send you pictures so you can see what your tools helped us create!

Thank YOU Toolbank! The Principal said that they never have enough of these tools for cleanup day…well they will this time thanks to you! We really appreciate it!

The Portland ToolBank was an important resource to our playground building project at The Salvation Army in Gresham. “Right tools, Right jobs get accomplish.” With our limited budget, we were not able to purchase tools for this project. Due to the ToolBank’s tool usage program, we were able to give our volunteers the tools needed to dig holes, mix concrete, drill holes and move a huge mound of mulch. The ToolBank made it possible to achieve our playground dream and let children play.
